Dear Members and Friends of QCECG:
The Town is hosting SpringInto QC at Mansel Carter Oasis Park on?Saturday, March 28, 2020.? The
Town's Recreation Services Division has requested
volunteers from QCECG to assist with directions and communications to the public (5), roaming support for event leadership (2,
see note below), and logistics support at the Egg Hunt area (2).
Event date is?Saturday, March 28, 2020.
Event time is?9:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.
Volunteers will be needed from?8:15 a.m. - 1:30 p.m.
Here is a link to the??event page on the Town's website.
A total of 9-13 volunteers will be needed.? Nine (9) will come from QCECG and four (4) from CERT.
We always like to have a buffer so I would like to have a total of at least 10 volunteers from QCECG to support this event.
There are two paved parking areas.? One to the north and one to the south of the park.? The south parking lot will be closed to the public and used for vendors only.? It will be closed at 8:30 a.m.
Most of the assistance is going to be needed to direct the public to parking in the north paved lot and for traffic control in the overflow lot.
I have attached the event map for 2020.
CERT Volunteer roles:
Three (3) CERT members at the overflow parking lot to assist citizens with parking directions.
One (1) CERT member at the crosswalk to the south of the overflow parking lot entrance to assist citizens with?crossing the road safely to?the park.
QCECG Volunteer roles:
One (1) QCECG member?will be needed?as net control.? We can set up in the overflow parking lot.
One (1) QCECG member at the overflow parking lot to provide communications for the CERT members (3) assigned to that area and also to assist citizens with parking directions.
One (1) QCECG member at the round-about entrance to the north paved parking lot to assist citizens with?parking directions.
Two (2) QCECG members at north paved parking lot to assist citizens with?parking directions.
New Positions (If we are able to staff):
Two (2) QCECG members at Egg Hunt area.? This will be similar to the Trunk line communicators for Trunk-Or-Treat focusing on supply needs and lost kids.? These will be stationary positions.
Two (2) QCECG members for the Event Leads or for a Lead and Roamer.?
Please note: These will be active positions requiring fast-paced walking for the duration of the event.
