At least I have gotten more answers from the WhatsApp group in two hours than anywhere else in two weeks! I had read somewhere that the SMA connector was for DMR duplex only, and thought the VHF/UHF bands on mine were dead, but it turns out THAT connector IS for VHF/UHF!

I've been using a USB keyboard with my Q900 today. Made myself a cheetsheet about what each of the keys do.? I didn't think much about keyboard operation, but it really does make operations a bit quicker and easier.? Tuning around with the arrow keys is fast and slick, access to saved CW messages similarly quick, and the engineers seem to have picked the correct radio functions to be able to control from the keyboard - Power, band selection, filter bandwidth, RF IF and AF gain, mode, spectrum etc.? Try it.?

One caveat - it might be my imagination, but the case might be getting a little warmer with the keyboard plugged in - if anyone else notices this let me know.

The more I use this Q900, the more I like it.?

I finally decided myself to purchase one and BTW I can recommend this shop:??ordered 24th Feb arrived today. Funny enough AliExpress still says "Awaiting shipment" but at the same time I contacted the seller it arrived in my mailbox.

Anyway after power up and playing with the Rx a little bit in CW mode (the item came with the CW filter selected) I would like to go a bit further. And it seems difficult to explore at random. Alas! Guohetec seems to have done a little mess up with the docs on their site:??since the link to the doc points to the rudimentary specs of TBR-119.

Has anyone been successful in getting the Q900 manual?

I measure .23 vdc from tip to sleeve when transmitting. ?If I measure resistance I get 75k ohms. ?Can anyone test their own rig to see if they get the same? ?I was hoping that tip to sleeve would be a dead shirt to ground to key my amplifier through a buffer relay. ?Thanks for your help.

I've seen a shop that offers both variations so it seems both breeds exist.

Are there any specs on what this jack does and how it keys an amplifier? ?I want to key my xpa125b with it without damaging anything!

if it has 2 sma connectors and an so239 then it is a version 3 regardless of color?

Well... black or blue does not matter for me but the price tag from shop to shop is not the same and it turns out that there is one with a blue box that is a bit cheaper than the others. If in doubt I would rather pay a few tens bucks more to be sure to get a Q900 but if all are equal I'd rather save these 10's bucks. Hence my question.

I believe all of the q900s have black boxes. ?I think the blue is cool but when I was inquiring from various vendors they told me black was the only color. ?Someone somewhere mentioned that they had another device that used an identical extruded box, so it seems it is a standard item. ?I think it was a battery charger. ?If we could figure out what supplier you can get the box from, maybe we can buy them in other colors to dress up
our units.

I have browsed through several offers for the Q900 from different shops on AliExpress and some display the Q900 with a black enclosure some with a blue enclosure. Knowing that the former Ailunce HS2 had a blue enclosure and roughly the same aspect as the Q900 I am a bit confused. Are these blue Q900's real Q900's? Does anyone have a clue?
