Heatsinking of the radio should have been on top of the case and never at the bottom. Bigger fins would always help in dissipating heat more efficiently. Size of case should not be the primary choice in design.

To now learn that the heat sinking is inadequate only reinforces my opinion that the whole radio is produced by amateurs who don't have a clue how to bring a proper design all the way to market and succeed.
