The Role

?

The MEL Coordinator is responsible for supporting implementation of the Pacific Australia Skills Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning Plan and System.

The role’s focus is on coordinating Pacific Australia Skills reports, qualitative data collection and analysis, and facilitating learning and program improvement.

· MEL Plan and System: Assist the MEL Manager and Assistant Manager to design and implement a rigorous MEL Plan and System for PASP which integrates GEDSI considerations throughout.

· Qualitative Data Management: Support the design of qualitative data collection processes, such case studies and organisational capacity assessments. Under the direction of the MEL Manager, collect and analyse qualitative data to inform reporting, decision-making and program improvement. Ensure data is securely stored in appropriate databases.

· Coordination & Reporting: Support the preparation of Annual Plans and MEL reports for DFAT and other stakeholders. Coordinate the input of country offices and other PASP teams to reports.

· Adaptive Management & Learning: Assist with facilitation of reflection sessions, learning events, and knowledge-sharing activities to integrate MEL insights into program improvement. Contribute to an ongoing process of testing, refining and further developing the program theory of change and its key assumptions.

· Capacity Building: Support MEL capacity building for PASP’s TVET partners, assisting them to develop appropriate systems for reporting and learning.

· Evaluation & Research: Support the implementation of evaluations and research studies on specific topics, as required.

· Contribute to developing harmonious working relationships with DFAT, colleagues and key stakeholders, and assist to build the profile and reputation of PASP as a high performing support program.

· As a member of the Pacific Australia Skills team, contribute to: program strategy development and work planning; integration of GEDSI, First Nation perspectives, environmental considerations and other cross-cutting issues; fostering of a collaborative team; and measurement of results and production of reports.

· Other tasks and duties as required to ensure the smooth and effective delivery of Pacific Australia Skills.?

About You

Selection Criteria

Essential Experience and Knowledge

· Bachelors or Masters degree in research, MEL, social sciences, international development, or related field.

· Minimum 3-5 years of experience in MEL, including writing and coordinating reports.

· Experience developing and implementing qualitative data collection and analysis.

· Ability to translate complex data into actionable insights and facilitate learning.

· Strong organisational and communication skills, with the ability to train and mentor others.

· Experience working in cross-cultural settings with a strong understanding of participatory approaches.

· Experience working with international development projects, NGOs, or donor-funded initiatives is an advantage.

· Understanding of and commitment?to Gender Equality, Disability and Social Inclusion (GEDSI), Child Protection, Prevention of Sexual Exploitation, Abuse and Harassment (PSEAH), prevention of human trafficking, environmental protection, anti-corruption and other DFAT safeguarding policies.
