FSP Vanuatu Executive Director
FSP Vanuatu is a local, nonprofit membership organisation with the purpose
to promote development by and for the people of Vanuatu. It works to
achieve this aim through supporting and promoting the sustainable social,
economic and environmental development of all people of Vanuatu and
advancing the capacities and self-reliance of Vanuatu's communities,
especially in rural areas. FSP Vanuatu is a member of FSP International, an
organisation of affiliated local NGOs throughout the Pacific and in the UK,
Australia and USA.
FSP Vanuatu seeking to recruit an Executive Director to be responsible for
the organisation and its programmes. Current development programmes focus
on youth, adolescent health, reproductive health, forestry and waste
minimisation and management. In addition, FSP Vanuatu's trading arm, Island
Conservation Initiatives (ICI) has established two small businesses which
promote sustainable development and work to generate income for ni-Vanuatu
entrepreneurs and FSP Vanuatu. The position of Executive Director is
responsible to the FSP Vanuatu Board of Directors.
The primary responsibilities of the Executive Director include:
· management oversight of all FSP Vanuatu programmes to ensure that
implementation and reporting meet member, community and donor standards;
· oversight of FSP Vanuatu finances to FSP Vanuatu, FSP International and
donor standards;
· development of new projects, proposals and innovative fundraising
techniques such as ICI;
· staff management and team building;
· organisational management, acting as Secretary to the FSP Vanuatu Board of
Directors.
The candidate should be highly qualified with:
· a minimum of 5 years experience managing an NGO or similar organisation;
· a tertiary degree in NGO management or similar field;
· knowledge of Pacific and/or Melanesian development issues;
· proven high level project planning and proposal writing skills;
· excellent leadership skills; proven ability to work as a team with diverse
and professional staff;
· proven project and organisational management skills including report writing;
· an understanding of financial systems and ability to read financial reports;
· motivation and initiative to develop new programmes with FSP partners
· computer literacy, experience with Word and Excel is a plus
