The appointee will teach
courses in Econometrics/Statistics both at the undergraduate and postgraduate
levels; conduct research and engage in consultancy work within the area. The
appointee will be expected to contribute to teaching both on campus and
through the distance education mode. The appointee will also be expected to
teach at least one other course in economic theory/applied courses in
economics.
Applicants must have a PhD in the field of Economics with specialisation
in Econometrics/Statistics, or a relevant Masters degree with good
publication record and teaching experience in the above fields at University
level.

addition to the above benefits, the University contributes 10% of basic
salary to an approved superannuation scheme, provides airfare and relocation
costs where appropriate and substantially subsidises
housing for eligible candidates.

The appointee will be responsible for teaching undergraduate
and postgraduate courses both on campus and through the extension mode;
participate and contribute to research and publications profile of the
department and school; contribute to administrative functions of the
department and to the school development programmes
and consultancy.
For appointment at the Lecturer level, applicants must have a PhD; good
research and publications record; and significant experience in tertiary
teaching and research in at least two of the following areas: Public Sector
Management, Operations Management, Total Quality Management, Strategic
Management, Marketing Management, Organizational Development, Human
Resources Management.
Preference will be given to applicants with industrial experience in any of
the relevant areas; consulting experience and experience in Distance
Education.
