Applications are invited from suitably qualified persons for the position of Librarian at the Fiji School of Medicine. The Librarian would head the institution Library which provides learning resources through its services for the training of Health Care professionals for Fiji and the Pacific region.

The appointee will manage and direct library services at FSM and will ensure the timely and efficient provision of relevant resources appropriate to the curricula. Will also be required to provide strategic initiatives that are consistent and conducive to the development of the library as a responsive and dynamic information centre and also to provide supporting information services to Medical Centres and hospitals nationally and within the region. The appointee will also be required to manage the FSM Archives.

Postgraduate degree in Library Science/Information Technology? or equivalent with at least 5 years experience as a professional Librarian. Must have worked with an automated library system and should also have a thorough knowledge of the provision of information technology in libraries.

The position requires a team player that will provide effective and professional leadership to the library staff.
