Local Cars and Coffee

 

Couple of shots at a local Cars and Coffee event.? Very close to home, so will probably hit this every once in a while.
Steamboat Island Cars and Coffee.? Neighbor and another friend showed up too (neighbor brought his 1970 914-6 and his 2017 991.2 Turbo S).?
The GT doesn't look so large these days :D

If I needed some of the parts he is offering, I would be all over it. So far, no wrecks or hit deer. I¡¯m sure that could change.

If he is getting rid of some other large parts like a block that I can get rebuilt it would make sense for me. I will PM him in Rennlist and see if he is doing something like that.

I have a pickup that I could take down if wanted. It is a 6¡¯ 6¡± bed with a topper so can¡¯t go to high.

I can try that, but the risk of damaging something that I've spent a ton of money on trying to make right several times has me keeping it in the garage until I know it's fixed. Can't keep pouring money (up to about 1600 now) into this clutch and have it fail in some way again.

I've reached the end of my patience rope with this 928.?
I have replaced or resurfaced all of the components of the clutch. I still get a chatter on engagement.? The intermediate plate is pinned and straighted. New clutch discs. Resurfaced flywheel and brand new pressure plate.?
I'm looking to see if there is a local expert that can help with the diag on this in the tacoma area. I'm clearly missing something.?

Other than space, money and love for the 928, I think you need these three things:
  1. Handy mechanically or willing to learn like Michael Benno from scratch
  2. Understanding wife
  3. And most importantly, flexible back to get in and out of the car
Unfortunately, and although I have a very understanding and kind wife, I don't have the 1. and 3. above.
