Re: Whats up:

Jim & Tina

Hi Jim,

I saw a really bad example of a 928 that had lived over in the Honolulu
area. It looked like death warmed over...Actually, the car and it's owner
had similar problems. The car's paint showed signs of severe UV exposure
and some rust spots. The car's owner, a 30 something blond woman, showed
signs of over exposure to UV and she looked like she had double the
mileage
of the car...

Rgds,
Bob
Now this is what I'm worried about for myself and the car!!
Jim

I'm starting to get a few offers similar to this, you guys are so
kind.

Re: Whats up:

Can't help with the storage, but I would definitely throw a coat of primer
on it and BRING IT TO THE DRAGS! (or not)

-Adam
Well now given enough time to get it road-worthy,registered,and enough
"shake-down time" I will certainly bring it - yellow, blue, and grey.
If I'm still here the drag day is the current goal painted or not!

Okay "Hotplate"! Pipe up! Are you coming up to race that torque monster

I like it Ray, your are in as "The Scalpel".

Hmmm... "The Boss", kind of goes against my anarchist tendencies, but could
be a keeper.

Phil "The Ace" Wilson - Phil is new to the group, so be kind.
"The Ace" is good, what do you think Gorilla?, yea or nay?

Thanks for the input Ray, any other ideas are certainly welcome.

Also, the name of our team so far is "THE STUTTGART AIR FORCE".

If anyone has any comments, or other suggestions, please let me know.

I've been pondering Devek Day, myself. A lot closer than the 928OC event
(think round-trip) and it would make a nice summer break. I will warn you,
I take my own good time getting anywhere. (No radar detector, no speeding

Hey Terry,

historical concours.

Re: Shark Drag Nicknames

Curt Nichols

So, here are some ideas for nicknames, I'm just throwing them
out/up/whatever. If you can match them to the person, maybe they're okay;
otherwise, well, blame it on the Paulaner.

Ice (moreso than Goose?)
On Yer Case
Chef (do you sing, too?)
Lefty (does anyone get this?)
No Trace / Not a Trace
Bear (think "...in the woods?")
Blue Note
Blowout (no, I wouldn't wish this on Tom)
Chum

That's it--I'm tapped, so to speak. Not enough Oktoberfest in the house to
suggest nicknames for everybody.

BTW, I'm okay with "BITWIZ." Better than "GEEK." Heck, I still own the
domain name, I'm just not doing anything with it right now. Probably
should have tried for the same on my WA plates instead of settling for 173
LAA. ("CON BRIO" wasn't available.)

Actually, "Chum" was nobody in particular, I just threw it in.

Okay, this could be really geeky, but I think it could be a lot of fun.

I want to put nicknames on the backs of the Shark Drags T-shirts. Below is
what I have come up with so far. I need help on a couple of names, my own
included. The people with *'s are "maybe's" that haven't yet committed to
race, but haven't told me to go jump in a lake either, or whom I haven't
heard a response from but showed an interest at the dyno day.

If anyone is not happy with their nickname, wants to change their nickname,
or have no nickname on your shirt, let me know. I don't mean to offend
anyone, there are no hidden connotations, I'm just trying inject some
humor. Okay, here it goes:

Louie "The Professor" Ott - Self explanatory, right?
Terry "The Enforcer" Redinger - Terry's a big guy, I'm glad he's my friend

Tom "Mongoose" Middleton - Tom is a true enthusiast, and has the racing
spirit
Rob "Dolby" Fossett - Rob is a car audio god
Curt "Beta" Nichols - works with computers, plus Beta is a fighting fish
Chris "Spitfire" Ford - its a British thing
Lloyd "The Prophet" Johnson - Lloyd has an introspective demeanor and a
long ponytail, kind of reminds me of a modern day prophet.

Adam " " Birnbaum - help me guys, don't rip on me too
badly!
Phil " " Wilson - Phil is new to the group, so be kind.

* Andy "Thrasher" Pope - Name just fits. His Car in for repairs, may not be
ready
* Nick "Goose" Daffern - Nick's a commercial pilot, doesn't know his
schedule for June yet
* Mark " " Rosenfield - Mark's in the restaurant biz, no response
yet
* Ray " " Henson - Ray does crime scene testing and

Tom,
On a similar note, anyone heading out to the 928 Owners convention in July?
I am going. Not decided yet if I'll drive or fly. Currently have a 928
problem where the car loses power for a few seconds up to a minute or so,
then ok again. I've monitored fuel pressure and it stays solid and changed
out MAF sensor, but it still does it intermittently. Currently checking
grounds. Have new coils. Trying to eliminate everything but LH computer first.
