The S4 flywheel is substantially larger in diameter. You likely will have to use a 78-80 lower bellhousing and remove the factory starter bracket off the engine. This lower bellhousing will also require modifications to clear everything. You may even have to take the flywheel to a machine shop to have the 60-2 toothed wheel removed from the flywheel. Or at least to a little material removal off the rear face of the flywheel. If you do need to do any of that, you will need to take the flywheel and pressure plate (sans release arm and TOB) to a machine shop and have the assembly rebalanced.? You will have to use the 87+ bellhousing, guide tube etc with this. Please keep in mind that the 87-95 throw out bearings have now been NLA for a long time. I am working on a fix for this, but it is slow going.? The dual disc clutch is actually a far superior clutch. The intermediate plate can be fixed in a set position and the engagement and disengagement improves drastically. If you ship your intermediate plate to me, I perform the modifications for $120USD?+ shipping and you then can just install and not worry. Alternatively, I have 3 here from Mark Anderson which I need to get to (but they require more extensive work). As soon as I ship them to him, I am sure he would do an exchange basis for you.? If it was me, I would never go from a single to a dual. But I have converted many 87+ cars to dual disc.? Alternatively, there is an aftermarket clutch that is in the works with Jeannie (928GT.com) I don't know how close to production they are, or what the price point would be. But I got to drive a 1980 with the 4.5L on tail of the dragon just before SITM this year and the clutch held and shifted beautifully.?
