Have a great time, All

Have a great time at the drags this weekend, you all.
Wish I could come along but I have had my entry into CARS
for the Gamblers Run, down in Elko since before this local
event was thought of, so...
Just for an update on MY car. It is down at Deveks for
a brake upgrade and a bunch of other things. Stuff wears
out when you have fun using it, as I am sure Adam is finding
out.
I had a bad vibration, probably caused by my car going
into "limp-home" mode during my last event, the hillclimb at
Bogus Basin. GTs have another "safety circuit" that shuts
down half the motor when the temps are different on each
bank of cylinders, or when the EFI computer gets an off spec
reading from some other sources. Supposedly this is so
that the cats don't fill with unburned fuel and ignite, like
I think may have happened once or twice in the past. So
while bumping the rev limiter at full load, the motor went
onto 4 cylinders, sending some bad vibes through the drive
line and breaking something else. Have not found out what,
yet, though the bolts holding the guide tube behind the
clutch were backed out and laying in the clutch cover.
While looking around for that vibration, we found that
the wires were shorting together for the plugs, and one of
the coils was intermittently cutting out, which may have
been causing the relays to shut down half the motor.
Then we found the belt was showing cords, and the cam
gears are getting worn, so...and while in there, a water
pump, of course.
All this took longer than expected, so no hillclimb at
Virginia City last weekend, but should be done(except for
the new brakes) for this weekend. Then the brakes, but of
course, the Kinesis Super Cup 17" rims will not fit over the
Big Reds, so anyone want to buy a set of those? The custom
Oliver rods for my new motor were shipped from England last
week, so that is finally going to be the last thing needed
for the new motor. Maybe by Aug. for Thunderhill.
Anyways, have fun at SIR.
