Adam,
If you remember, my tube went out last summer. I tried to do it myself but
found it very difficult without a lift. The problem is that the rear end must
come out, and to do this you need to support the car in the air, with the
axle free to role away. I could not find a secure way to this without
worrying about the car falling off the stands. For me it was worth paying the
$900.00 or so to have it done. If you decide this is a better option, Denny
Akers at Akers Foreign Auto in Seattle, does great work. I highly recommend
him. They did mine in a day. They also replaced the front and rear bearings
and serviced the trany at the same time, which I also recommend.
