Hi Calvin,
I take mine to Larson's. I think I'm the only person on the planet that
has had good experiences with them. We will see what happens this next
time around, it looks like they have a new service manager.
When I had them do work in the past (t-belt/pump, ABS fix, alignment,
tranny scheduled service) I made them put in writing that I would be
notified if they went more than 10% over quote. I also talked personally
with the mechanic before and after any work was done. I think communication
is the most important thing. I've heard of others getting dinged by all
the local shops, and its mostly when the car is left and there is no talk
about what happens if the shop goes over estimate. By law they are supposed
to let you know if they more than 10% over, but after the repairs are done,
what are going to do, have them remove the parts?
Lloyd mentioned Leif at Autoworks Northwest. He has an excellent
reputation, but is known for taking awhile to complete work because of his
thoroughness and the high demand for his work. He did the pre-purchase
inspection on my shark and would be my first choice if I lived in Seattle.
When and if Larson's does me wrong, I will seek Leif out.
I'm glad to see that you'll be coming out to the drags. If you decide to
run your car, let me know.

Adam: who do you take your car to when having problems that you can't
diagnose? Is there anybody that is real good with the 928's, My old 88
(stolen last August) had been at Akers, i had it at Larson and wouldnt do
that again( originally bought the car there). The 9o I have i bought at
park
place, 27,800 miles real clean and to much premium, but once you have one
you
have to have another, it wqas well documented and alot of the cars are on
3rd
an 4th owners and pretty trashed, anyway see ya at SIR
