He... <> TIPP CITY ¡ª Roger and Glenna Rasor will celebrate their 75th wedding anniversary on Sunday, Oct. 21, at the Tipp City United Methodist Church from 2-4 p.m. The event will be hosted by their children Bruce, Gary Timothy and their families. They were married on Oct. 23, 1943 in Macon, Georgia. TIPP CITY ¡ª Roger L. Rasor, age 96, of Tipp City, passed away on Sunday, October 14, 2018 at his residence. He was born on July 16, 1922 in Troy to the late Daniel B. Rasor and Naomi (Wion) Rasor. Roger is survived by his wife of 75 years: Glenna M. (Lesher) Rasor; children: Bruce Rasor of Springfield; Gary A. Rasor of Columbus; and Timothy B. (Lynne) Rasor of New London, WI; grandchildren: Renee (Jim) Downhower of Columbus; Ryan Rasor of Columbus; Heather (Ted) Watter of Sykesville, MD; Nevin Rasor of Milwaukee, WI; Dr. Zachary Rasor of Roanoke, VA; and Paul Rasor of Conifer, CO; and great grandchildren: Megan, Ellie and Max. In addition to his parents, Roger was preceded in death by 2 brothers and 2 sisters. Roger was a graduate of Elizabeth High School. He also served in the US Army Air Corp in WWII for 3 years, 3 months and 3 days. Roger was a member of the United Methodist Church, Monroe Grange, and Dayton Dulcimer Club. He loved music including playing guitar and harmonica. Roger was a building contractor, carpenter, area farmer and also taught carpentry at Greenville High School. Funeral service will be held at 11:30 AM on Saturday, October 20, 2018 at Tipp City United Methodist Church with Pastor Dan Glover officiating. Interment will be at Maple Hill Cemetery, Tipp City with military honors provided by VFW Honor Guard. Friends may call from 9:30 AM to 11:30AM on Saturday, October 20, 2018 prior to the service. Thanks Mary For all the Info. We may wish to use our emails when replying with a lot of materials. Though others will appreciate and may use what you sent if they are not on one of the three or four tree programs.
From what I see of other trees and finding no solid info for Catherine, she can't be a second spouse as Maria dies the year after Ludwig..IF she was a first spouse then the first child or so may be hers or most likely she died in childbirth of the first child, which I see in my research most likely. Then too that spouse may be forgotten or never known to the children who are passing down the info. Just my thoughts. Connie |

The Seaman people you list were from England. I know this because I researched them lightly many years ago. The surname I am researching was spelled S?man (S?man) or S?mann (S?mann) in German. It got 'Americanized' to Seaman (plus 9 other spellings). Johann left his father, Johann Jacob, and two brothers behind in Obermoschel, Germany and came here with his wife, brother, and sister. He was 26 years old; and was the Patriarch of the family here in this country because he was the oldest. I cannot imagine taking on such responsibility at that age. My 2x Gr Grandfather changed the spelling of the surname to Sayman when he left Berks County to go to Sullivan County because he wanted it pronounced as it would have been in Germany. Johann Ludwig Seaman (1722-1797) was married twice. His first wife ia Anna Maria as you have it listed. His 2nd wife was named Catherine. They are both mentioned in his will. He is my 4th Gr Grandfather. I believe Catherine to be my 4th Gr Grandmother, but I cannot find any Church records where they were married. Even more interesting is that Anna Maria is buried with Johann Ludwig at St. Michael's and their monument indicates she was the mother of all of his children. Anna Maria died a year after Johann Ludwig. Johann's son, Ludwig, b. 1794 Is my 3rd Gr Grandfather. Ludwig, is my brick wall. I cannot find him anywhere, yet I find other records alluding to his death in 1840. I have searched for years for his information, as have several others. Eberhardt was the son of Johann Ludwig Seaman b. 1722. He is my 4th GGrandfather through his son, Ludwig, b. 1794. Nice to meet you, Cousin. I am on MyHeritage.com. In 1801, The Grandfather John Miller purchased 200 acres of land that had been deeded to a Revolutionary War Vet in 1787.? The original warrant and survey map of the warrant are available in Pennsylvania records. In the 1801 deed, when Grandfather John purchase the 200 acres and again in the the 1840 deed for Son Michael;s inheritance,? the 1787 land grant is referenced. Overlaying the map of the original land grant on a map of the same area in Google Earth, you can see the original 200 acres in the hedge rows that surrounded the original farm.? All physical features like the river, and distances match in the two maps.? There is also a cemetery, known to have been on the farm, that is located approximately in the middle of the original 200 acres In the Grandfather John 's will written 1823 and submitted to the court in 1826, Grandfather John states that his Son Michael is living on the half the farm that is to be his inheritance.? Confirming son Michael was living on the farm when Ancestor Alva was born in 1826. Son Michael and family, and the family of the son who inherited the other half of the farm, are living on the farm in the 1850 census.? In the 1860 both families of the sons who inherited the farm are still living on the original farm There are over a half dozen deeds involving the transfer of the inheritances that further confirm the location.? There are also deeds from the family of the other inheriting son as the original farm passed out of the family. 20 years ago when I started researching my family family, I avoided this family as Miller is a very common name.? Now it is probably one of my best document family in this time period. There is one trail that is hard to find information.? It ran from the mouth of the Beaver river at the Ohio, north along the Beaver to to the Mahoning river, and then following that river into Ohio.? It was called the Mahoning Trail or Path.? It was an ancient trail that had existed for centuries by the time the European moved into the area.

My interest in the trail was fostered by an inconsistency on an ancestors tombstone.?? The inscription on his stone reads "Born Mahoning Co Pennsylvania." The inconsistency is obvious? in that there is, nor ever was a county in Pennsylvania called Mahoning Co. From deeds and his grandfather's will I know he was born on a farm that was less that a half mile from the Beaver River, on the southern line of North Beaver Twp.?? Knowing the location where he was born and about the Old trail,? I believe his inscription should read "Born on the Mahoning trail Commonwealth of Pennsylvania." In 1826 the area he was born was in Beaver county, and by the time he died it was Lawrence county so it was actually a more specific location that a county reference. When replying to another list today I found these maps. Those who were in
Northumberland / Schuylkill Co who migrated to Jefferson and Clarion and Venango etc. the route on the map is Pink Purple Red and Blue into Southern Jefferson and Clarion. Part of this was Portage trail after they went down the Juniata river. The green line above this trail is the Susq river trail past Grampion etc to headwarters and portage over thru some of Clearfield Co to Jefferson. This is where the second wave would have gone in the 1840's and after. The lower one is where many Mennonites went to Bedford area and settled. Those of Clinton and Lycoming Cos would have use the Susq river trail west and they reflect intermarriages between those East of the N. Susq region with those who move from Jersey Shore area into Ohl area of Jefferson. These were largely Lutheran and Methodist.
