开云体育OK, I just clicked into the Berks site where the search engine is at this URL ? Scrolled down and searched for Henry H. Reinert and I got a list of results including a link to what appeared to be the Morton Montgomery transcripts.? I next clicked on the line “Biographies from Historical Biographical…etc. and I got the error message that I’m posting on the bottom of this message….where am I going wrong? ?

Re: Berks County Site
开云体育Yes, there are many records and much information available at Family Search, but even they acknowledged to me that their site is very complicated to navigate.? Every time I think I’ve learned how to get where I want to go, they change the format because they say they are dealing with a new server and company.? Family Search was never easy to navigate.? The old Berks site was the best to navigate, there was nothing complicated about it and whatever you wanted was only one click away, not a series of clicks. ? Betty ? Re: Berks County Site
开云体育I have no complaints about the Berks county site.? Most of my research in some way was tied to the Berks site.? In fact it was good to see the "old" ;-) timers are still around.? I have gotten a lot of help and information from the Berks site over the last 20 years.?? Actually I have found that most of the local site are responsive to questions.??My complaint comes from trying to follow up leads? on the commercial sites.?? So many people today have fallen for the advertisement to get them to subscribe, "just plug in your name and you get your family history"? They have no facts for their trees, and have no idea of how to find those facts. I am just glad to see real genealogy sites like the Berks County site, and the Allen County Genealogy Society, and similar sites are still in existence.? ? On 1/30/2021 2:07 PM, Jane Unger via

Re: Berks County Site
I'm not quite sure what you're complaining about here, but I have been in charge of the Berks County site since 2013.? ?I have answered every question that was ever sent to me.? The person who takes on the maintenance of the site isn't a researcher whose job it is to create the site or who is supposed to do research for anyone else.? They are a webmaster, someone who keeps the site up and running and adds research sent to them by others.? They point people to where they can find answers.? They can certainly add their own research, but that's not the job.? Please give the person who volunteered to take over from me, since I can't do it any more, time to get acquainted with the site.? It has the most difficult, most confusing code of any site I've ever worked on and I've been coding since about 1995.? He's trying to make it easier to use and in the process it may seem cumbersome for a bit.? Patience, please. Jane ?
