I¡¯ve recovered an old photograph identified as Gertie BROWN
ROEDER which appears to have been taken some time between 1907 and 1917.? Gertie appears to be in her 20¡¯s at the time
the photograph was taken.? There is no studio
or location identified on the photograph, however, after limited research I was
able to find the following information regarding Gertie and her family:

Gertrude ¡°Gertie¡± or ¡°Gerdie¡± Moyer BROWN was b. May 1895 in
Pennsylvania to parents John George BROWN (1866-1918) and Alma Lillian MOYER
(1871-1924) who were married 2 Jan 1889 in Schuylkill Co., PA.? Gertie was one of 5 children born to this
couple including George C.; Mary Ellen; Gertie; Carrie Buelah; and Lucy C.
BROWN, all born between 1891 and 1899.?
Gertie married Joseph Daniel ROEDER (1891-1959) on 14 Jun 1913 in
Schuylkill Co., PA and they had a daughter Lillian Caroline ROEDER FRICK (1918-2017).? Gertie died 28 Aug 1975 in Allentown, PA and
is buried in the Schuylkill Memorial Park Cemetery in North Manheim Township,
Schuylkill Co., PA.? Gertie¡¯s daughter died
in 2017 and her obituary listed her surviving grandson Glen L. AULENBACH of
Wakefield, RI.
