William and Maria had 10 kids, 7 sons,
3 daus; we have?lots of cuzzies thru other sons known for sure.
Many cuzzies from Jacob's brother, William2
match us in?DNA so thats a great discovery we are on right DNA track!
Many of the men married German gals could not speak English so pronounced surname
as they thought it sounded
which made it difficult until DNA to research, DNA sure paid off for our 20 yrs of
researching this family.
The 7 sons eventually scattered in many directions.....Ohio, WA, Missouri, No Carolina,
Tennessee
eventually my own line went to Ky from TN then to Texas and stay put to this day.
I admin our Smothers Tribe DNA project 2002-2022 so now aware of other various Smothers
lines not related to us too......
