Hi
Have you tried dna?
In my family, also from Berks County.. we had a John Mertz born 1801 in Swineford PA. ?With more than one John Mertz born around the same time period and in PA ,,it was really hard to figure out the patriarch. ?Especially since mine up and moved to Auglaize Ohio.
My Dad and Uncle both did dna tests. Another relative had been basically doing a study and gathering info from various Mertz lines documented and not ,trying ,to see if related using gedmatch. ?We were able to determine that my Mertz line by dna was part of the Berks County line. ?While we aren¡¯t positive yet which son and his family are our line
We do know the patriarch so we know ancestral village, which is near Metz France currently but line considers self German. ?Haven¡¯t had time to try to see if maternal matches to try to narrow it down that way .
I hope this makes some sense .
If it wasn¡¯t for dna testing wouldn¡¯t have gotten that far in figuring out our mystery even though we have a gap.(with large families and siblings marrying siblings in other families it gets bit more complicated)
Miller is a hard one, I know as I have a number in my lines too to figure out.
Good luck on finding your missing pieces (hope my experience will possibly help.)
Mary

I have a mystery, that I
have been working on for nearly a decade.? I have documented my
Miller family back to Lawrence Co Pa in 1801.? Before that they
were in Washington Co Pa.??
I have good evidence that my Miller family was in Dauphin Co Pa,?
and before that I some clues they were in Lancaster Co Pa,.?? This
information is still not completely proven
I know there are two Miller families in the Adams Co Indiana area;
one being my 3rd great grandfather, Alva Miller,? and four of his
brothers and the other being John Miller.?? It is documented? that
the Miller brothers were born and lived their early lives in
Lawrence Co. Pa.
It is known that this John Miller of the other Miller family
married Susan Barlet in Berks Co Pa.? Based on Susan's brother
Daniel Barlet's Berks Co Pa Will their parents were Sebastian
Barlet (Berlit) and Anna Maria Anna Maria Machmer.? Base on that
same Will their sister Catharine Barlet married Nicholas Miller.
I know that Sebastian and Anna Maria, sons live in western Berks
Co.
The mystery; are John and Nicolas Miller related to my Miller
family.? I have several incidence in my families where the family
stayed together as they moved west.?? If John Miller is an Xcousin my Miller brothers, it would not be
unheard of for the brothers to follow their cousin to Indiana.
Does any one have a puzzle piece that links these Miller families
together?
