We need to stop thinking that toddlers are cognitively mature enough to understand what the consequence of their decisions are- when toddlers don't want to be in a car seat- would your advice be- well

Thinking from her perspective...why should I use my cane when I have someone's hand? Wonder what will happen if that hand is no longer there? A hyssy fit or two initially, I bet, but in the long run?

Obstacle course? What if her other traveling companions were using white cane like devices so she doesn¡¯t feel self conscious ? Or have her conduct a running monologue about what she is detecting
