My masks have been loose so I just tie a knot in one of the elastics that goes behind the ear.

Any hat, mask or hood requires adjusting to how it feels ?to process environmental information when traveling. However, I personally have weighed the consequences of refusing to make allowances for these at times uncomfortable accommodations to my personal

In my family, no single mask design fits everyone comfortably and we have all had to try multiple masks. Two solutions are available to those who don¡¯t tolerate straps/strings pulling on their ears.
? First, you could get cloth masks with four strings. ?Tie the top strings above your ears and the others below to keep the ears free. You could also try tying the bottom pair high on the back of your head and bringing the top strings down to
the base of the skull which helps some people avoid fogging their glasses.
? Second, Amazon has at least 50 products under the category of ¡°mask strap extenders¡± typically around ten dollars. ?Ours, pictured below, is a plastic strap about six inches long with three hooks on each end so you have some control over how
tight the mask is. We can wash sanitize and reuse these. We got ten of them. You still need to find a mask with straps about the right length but hooking the straps to this extender takes the pressure off your ears.

?We have had complaints that facial vision, is impacted.? I have suggested that folks practice wearing masks in the home & familiar areas, to be sure that this not an issue.? Right now I do not know if that impact will fade with time, after using
masks for awhile.? I'm waiting for a couple people to get back to me with their observations.? However this is not universal for everyone.

What are everyone¡¯s thoughts on face masks and their effect on blind travelers? They can change ear shape and obscure sensory input. Are there specific designs that may be less problematic than others?
Thanks,
