In northern Europe, many countries celebrate St Nicholas Day on Dec 6th, where a kindly man dressed in a red robe, distribute gifts and goodies to good boys and girls and leave behind sticks and coals to naughty children. This tradition started back in the 3rd century was brought over to the new world (New York) by the early Dutch and evolved into our current Santa Claus Christmas..
I was exposed to this tradition when I met my future wife (whose family migrated from Luxembourg to Wisconsin in the 19th century). So our family celebrate the 6th and 25th of December and enjoy Christmas cheers twice.
Thus, to the class of Jan, 1959,? have a Happy and Merry Christmas.
