Thanks for the update — and that paint job sounds horrific. When we remodeled, I spent weeks removing gaudy layers of avocado green and ghastly blue paint from our Douglas fir built-ins, door frames and door (we still haven’t done the hallway door). I had thought I would need to repaint the cabinets, but the wood was beautiful so we just stained it.
This housing market is so heated, if enough of us take photos and post them, a buyer will emerge and the agent can refrain from undertaking an unnecessary vandalism. (You might tell I’m still scarred from all scraping off ugly paint!) |

Hi Neighbors — There’s an estate sale on our block tomorrow — and they are putting the house on the market soon, so this is a chance for a sneak preview. (The real estate agent wants to paint over all the beautiful wood interior because she says it looks dark and dated and no one wants that anymore — nooo!)

I hope this reaches everyone.? We have a new cat, a 7 year old hefty tabby named Brodie, incredibly skittish, and basically an indoor cat.? He got out into the back yard, and may have gotten out of the yard, under the fence.? Let me know if you see him.? Contractor/Engineer for earthquake insurance discount inspection?
Howdy neighbors, hope you’re all doing well. Looking for another recommendation: Our earthquake insurance may qualify for a discount if a general contractor or a civil/structural engineer can verify the dwelling meets certain conditions. I’ve been able only to get one Yelp quote this far — companies are either booked or don’t do this survey. Does anyone have a recommendation for a company that might do this service?
