Hi, neighbors!??This is Chuck Afflerbach (aka ¡°Chuff¡±) with an official Block Party notice.

We are now registered for our Block Party on Tuesday, August 2nd, as part of the National Night Out program sponsored by the City of Oakland.??Our permit to close the street begins at 5:00pm and ends at 9:00pm.??We now have ten days to get the party organized.
?
First, please spread the word.??Talk to your neighbors, in case they aren¡¯t on this email list.
?
I can print flyers to place on porches this weekend.??I am willing to list my contact info on the flyer for anyone who has questions.??However, I would like to have a co-sponsor who can help with the organizing.??Any volunteers?

Now for the details¡
?
Many of us have been to our block parties before, so you know what we need:
A couple of barbecue grills
Folding tables with plenty of chairs
Paper plates, napkins, plastic utensils
Coolers with ice
Trash cans (it¡¯s on a Tuesday so it will be ¡°Garbage Night¡± on Oak Grove)
?
Food and Drink:
Everyone brings whatever they want to grill, and a dish to share: appetizers, salads, veggies, condiments, desserts, or your own special recipe.??Don¡¯t forget to bring what you want to drink!??

Entertainment:??
Any musicians on the block???Chalk artists???Face painters???We will set up our cornhole beanbag toss on our front lawn at 5632.??In the past neighbars?have shared the cost of a Bounce House for the kids.??If anyone wants to arrange that, our yard is available.

Meet the Neighbors:
We will have nametags for everyone to get to know each other.??We should also update our neighborhood group email list.??New additions should go on a sign-up sheet to be collected by Jeff Rosenbloom.

Contact List:
It¡¯s been five years since we had a comprehensive list of all our neighbors on Oak Grove, Pedestrian Way, and the block of Forest at the end of Oak Grove.??That old spreadsheet needs an update, so is there is anyone?familiar with Excel or Google Docs who is?willing to take on the task???Is this something that we on the block want to have?
