Yeah I¡¯ve been eyeing a dedicated solar scope or block as well (currently I just have a white?light filter on my EdgeHD 8¡±), had an opportunity to look through two at Starfest and the images were stunning sharp and detail (photos DO NOT do them justice). Not sure the make/model so included photo of them, I¡¯d buy these in a heart beat if I had the money.

Definitely go with Lunt.
I used to sell both, and a problem that can happen to either is a degraded filter in the blocking filter assembly (oxidation of one of the metal films).?
Meade doesn't sell or send out replacement filters, requiring a trip back to California and unknown wait time for replacement.? The last time I sent in a blocking filter to Meade, we didn't receive a replacement for about 2 years, and failed to receive one at all before the shop close down.?
Lunt will ship you the filter glass, and it's dead-easy to replace.
Point for Lunt.

I'm seriously considering the Lunt 50mm.? Andrea Girones showed a
few images taken with the 40mm that absolutely blew my socks off.?
I wanted to go with the 50mm since it has the pressure tuning
which I think is better than the tilt tuning.?
I was told by someone whose opinion I respect that you can get a
really good Coronado - if you're lucky, but that you will always
get a really good Lunt.? The Quark has the problem that you have
to buy both the prominence version and the disk version if you
want to observe both and there have been quality complaints.

Hi folks:
I have a Lunt 60mm h alpha
solar scope and I am very pleased with it.? I got it with a
double stack (add on) which really brings out the detail on
the sun's surface.? The prominences are also amazing.? I have
created a shield that blocks extraneous light getting into
your eyes as you view the solar image.? All this stuff is
expensive.? I now supplement visual solar observing with
capturing the solar diskc and flares using a camera connected
to a laptop. I can save some of images if I want.?

I had a Lunt 50,
and it was underwhelming! Sold it¡
