A few years ago I was at North Frontenac Deep Sky Preserve (#4 on Atilla's list) and the best image of M 31 Andromeda Galaxy for me was through a pair of binoculars.? Because the sky was so dark you can see the arms of the galaxy and how far they extend!? Awe struck.
