How Good is the D1x - Check out this review
Hi
This is probably the best D1x review that I have read. www.dpreview.com/reviews/nikond1x/default.asp Enjoy! I have also taken some of the sample images, blown them up to 24" x 36" and compared them to the D1. Fantastic!! Try it and then take a look at the actual pixels in Photoshop, you will be amazed! My next step will be to go to 32" x 48". Regards: Loren |

You can take 10 images with the same everything and one image is bound to have a different exposure. I've had my D1 to Nikon to check this out. Nobody at Nikon knows anything.
I've noticed that sometimes I will get drastically different exposuresletsrig@... 06/29/01 09:23AM >>> for what appear to be similar scenes. I am using centerweighted metering so I expect it to act like my F3's. I will get good exposures and then all of a sudden I will get some very dark images. It appears as if it weights very small specular highlights too strongly. Anyone else notice this? Glenn To unsubscribe from this group, send an email to: Nikon_D1-unsubscribe@... Your use of Yahoo! I guess this is a personal choice deal, I 'm going to stay with the D1, which I got last March for $3,575.00, I got it new & I like it!! I process my NEF's with Mac Bibble & I'm quite happy with the results. I might take the plunge on the D1x later this year when they;re readily available. I recommend www.robertsimaging.com for my equipment purchases, they're reasonable & they treat you like a "real" customer, unlike the NY stores. Look at the web page, get the 800 number and give Christy a call, she will put you on hteir waiting list for the D1x. The only bummer with Roberts is that they don't give NPS members preferential treatment like others like Calumet do!!! If you decide with the D1, look at the body well, Dirt is a major thing with the D1, because the chip is exposed, & it gets dirty fast!! Find out who owned the camera, because I know qute a lot of D1 shooters that are quite careful with their cameras & I wouldn't hessitate buying a D1 from them, OTOH I kno of some I wouldn't touch a D1 from their hands with a 10 FT pole!! The new version of Nikon capute is quite a bit lower inprice, the old version was $500.00, the new version is only $200.00, at least that is what calumet has it advertised for!! Good luck, & keep us posted Yamil tixx4@... wrote:

¿ªÔÆÌåÓýI am
a new member and live in Southern California. I'm an enthusiastic amateur. I
have a Nikon F-5, F-10, a bunch of Nikon lenses and a Nikon 990. The 990 has
made me a traitor to 35mm film. I'll probably get a D1X as soon as I can
actually hold one in my own hands. I have to say, however, that I love my 990
for its small size. The results from the 990 are on average better than I can
get from my F5 when I consider the whole process from scanner to
printer.

wildlife, landscapes, etc. I have a friend who's looking to get me into shooting nudes, but SWMBO doesn't like that idea much... I have a D1, 17-35 AF-S, 28-70 AF-S, 80-200 AF-S, TC-20E teleconverter, Sigma 180mm Macro and Sigma 50-500. I'll be going to Scotland in July/August, and hope to have a bunch of cool pics to post to my web site when I return...
