I'm not all that excited about advertising the Yahoo group. Remains to be seen how long it (or Yahoo for that matter) lasts. I can deal with an ad for Nikon (if they give us the shirts?). Film is a four letter word is cute. My idea is not to advertise Yahoo!! I tought that we could have our own identity!! BTW, I'm an active member of almost all the D1 discussion groups, IMHO one more like this won't hurt! Y |

Ok guys here it is, we have our own T-Shirt:-)
After a conversation with another uy on DP Review, I cam up with this idea for a logo. Here it goes: FILM IS A FOUR LETTER WORD Nikon_D1@... One of the Art Directors at the company I work at made the logo for me!! Do you like?? Any suggestions??? Thanks Yamil |
Florescent lighting
The Picture Man
开云体育I used a incandescent photo light to do my
n90s pics and it worked out very well
I also used it once since I received my D1x
camera which is now at nicon getting the
language adjustment made.
An incandescent bulb can be dimmed with a
common light dimmer and works great.
You may have to have more than one to get
the proper lighting you are looking for. |

开云体育Unless fluorescents have come a long way, they cannot be successfully dimmed… The excited particles that make the fluorescent “glow” slow down when dimmed and you can actually SEE them in the tube… ? I DO bet there is something you can use though!? In my motion picture film days Lowell made a great little pack of floods that were very portable, lightweight and could be adjusted with dimmers and barn doors and gels… You pay for the Lowell name and the portability… you can get all the stuff you need at Home Depot to make your own.(minus the stands) Tim ? ? Can anyone recommend small daylight balanced fluorescent floods
that |

Portable fluorescent floodlights ?
Mark
Can anyone recommend small daylight balanced fluorescent floods that
have dimmer controls ? I don't need a bank of them, just a couple I can put here and there for fill and accent lighting in interior real estate shots. Maybe some portraits. I use halogen floods now but they are crap. Yellow color cast and too hot ! Thanks ! Mark in SF (D1 and D1X, SB28DX's) Is anyone familiar with the Calument Trilite ? |

That's hard to describe. Doesn't anyone else have this problem? I use that big Nikon f2.8 80-200AFS 99 percent of the time (several hours at a time). It always lays on my arm against my body as I'm walking around and the hood gets knocked off when I go to use the camera. Hard to explain. I've given up trying to keep the hood on all the time. And then out hiking getting the D1 (with 17-35) in and out of a backpack it's impossible to keep the hood on. (Yes, there's room in the backpack for the hood extended.) But if it were glued on ...(what type of situation) do you find the Hood coming off too easily? |

I will find out on the glue issue for you and get back to you shortly. When (what type of situation) do you find the Hood comming off too easily? (I ask only because I am always looking to inprove each product in the line). You are right about using the camera strap, I put it on for exactly that reason. I would hate for anyone to accidently lose thier Hood if it happended to come off when they did not want. I invite and appreciate your comments and insight. I do take them to heart and often that is exactly where the improvements to the product come from. The actual user in real world environments and applications are so much better than any type of R&D we can do on this end. Thanks much, Scott ----- Original Message -----

And then using a 2nd hood and hoodcap for when I didn't want it on all the time like when it's humid and the hood keeps fogging up the hoodcap because of my breath. door rubber that doesn't stick to any glue known to man?

Any thoughts? Like what kind of glue to use. Or is this another Nikon CF door rubber that doesn't stick to any glue known to man? Stephen McCloud |

开云体育Hey Tim,
Thanks for your positive comments about the line. As for special prices for
my list buddies, I wish that I could do something there, but, unfortunately, the
system is all automated. However, in the notes section of the order form type in
that you are one of Scott's List Buddies and I will instruct the guys in the
back to throw in some Hoodwipes free of charge to any order that comes across
with that note. Hope that helps.
Talk to you soon,
Scott
