Welll, It looks like Christy is sending me the D1X on my Christmas list!

While it cost me a left leg¡­ I am getting what I need!

I¡¯ll let you know my excitement level when it gets here¡­ right now excitement is overshadowed by HOLYCRAPTHISISALOTOFMONEY!!!

The D1H provides a smaller file and appears to be oriented towards
those who need the rapid fire multiple shot of 5 frames per second.
Sports and other press photographers. Personally I wouldn't want my
backup to be a step down in quality or I would find myself uninclined
to use it. I wouldn't mind if the backup didn't have frills, but if the
basic image was of a lesser quality, I don't think I would like that
dynamic.
I'm getting my D1x today supposedly, so I'm speaking without
actually having used the camera yet. But my experience in the past 20
years of prof. photography is that image quality is not to be
compromised unless there is a very good reason.

Hello folks, I guess I want to make a public apology to the fine people
at Hoodman Inc.!!

Last week, while in a panic I posted a rather strong worded statement
about Hoodman inc. I was proven wrong, by their professional response to
my , well... WHINING!!!


First, Hoodman offered to send me a FREE Hoodcap for my D1X, NEXT DAY
RED , NO CHARGE!! I Respectfully declined of course, it wasn't their
fault that the USPS didn't deliver my stuff!! They sent me the Hoodcap,
& I'm happy:-)

Now, two weeks later, the USPS still hasn't delivered my first Hoodcap
to me!!! Well, Hoodman WILL send me another Hoodcap, to replace the
first one, Priority Mail, & If I ever receive the first one, after it
comes from it's trip around the world, I can keep that one too!!

I have to take this opportunity to commend the folks at Hoodman &
apologize for my outburst!! They're a company that deserves our patronage.

Thanks Hoodman, & I'm really sorry!!

PS, on a happy note, the D1X's are hitting again!!:-) No japanese this
time!! I sent mine today, & I left a lexar card inside!! OOOPS!!!
I hope I get it back!!

Right you are Dave! But I won't send mine until they tell me a "real"
turarround time. to this day there's 5 or 6 versions, depending on who
you ask.


Did you pick it up already?

place within 40 miles, for E-6, I have to Next day to Denver & I get it
back 2 days later.


I've got an F100 to backup my D1 -- cheap insurance IMHO.

Yup, I have 2 F-5's, Expensive insureance:-(

I would like to have something Digital to cover my But!!
