Re: Tethering

I have a D500, and assume it has the same connection on the camera body as the D810. I tried a cheap usb but it didn¡¯t connect reliably. So went with the orange cable from TetherPRO. No issues, solid as a rock

Is it just a long simple usb cable?

I connect my 810 to my laptop with a tether cable, using LR on my laptop.

Seamless and puts the image file into the folder you select in LR.

I know tethering is great for studio work.?

I have an opportunity to do a shoot for a friend and want to be able to display images as they are captured on a TV attached to the HDMI port on my laptop (windows 11) to allow us to critique it as well as review aspects we want to change.

The 810 does not have Wi-Fi capability so I am likely looking at a wired option unless there are ?workable options that won¡¯t break the bank so to speak.

What are the experiences of the group with this tethering??
Any recommendations or should I stick to frequent breaks and import the card from the camera?

Jon
