Capitol Hill Cooperative Play School is Now Accepting Applications!
Hi neighbors, The Capitol Hill Cooperative Play School (CHCPS) is accepting applications for Fall 2025! CHCPS is a non-denominational, wholly-parent-staffed social group that provides a warm and supportive place for 2-year-old play. It also provides the opportunity for parents to meet other families in the Capitol Hill neighborhood of Washington, D.C. Capitol Hill Cooperative Play School is for delightful two-year-olds whose parents are ready for them to play and scream somewhere else. But for only a few hours a week. The kids get to run around and the parents who aren't "on duty" get to have some time to themselves! We did this amazing Playschool with our child this year and he has loved it! We are so sad it will be ending soon. It has been a great opportunity for us to meet and socialize with other parents. Some families with nannies do it as well to offer their children an opportunity to socialize with other kids their age in a structured environment. There are still a number of slots available for this fall. Here is the info form for those who are already convinced - you can apply through on the website: https://www.chplayschool.org/ Below is more info to help you decide if the group is right for you: -Because of insurance, there are spots for 12 families on Monday/Wednesdays, Tuesdays/Thursdays and Fridays. The group can decide what days/how many days a week. -Parents facilitate the group on a rotating schedule. Duty days are done roughly twice a month. -To participate, ideally a child must be age 2 by December 2025. -It costs only $375 (2 half days a week) for the entire school year! Capitol Hill Cooperative Play School meets in the nursery of The Lutheran Church of the Reformation, 212 East Capitol St NE 20002. Typical Day 9 a.m. – Duty parent arrival. 9:15 – 9:30 a.m. – Drop-off of children. 9:30 – 10 a.m. – Free play 10 a.m. – 10:15 a.m. – Wash hands and snack. 10:15 – 10:30 a.m. – Circle time with songs, movement, and stories. 10:30 – 11:45 a.m. – Activity time: anything from arts and crafts to a ride in the buggies to the playground at Stanton Park. 11:50 – 12:10 p.m. Wash hands back at school and eat lunch, then free play as time permits. 12:15 – 12:30 p.m. – Pick-up of children and clean-up of the classroom by duty parents. Please reach out to me if you have any questions! Kristina

ISO: Affordable HVAC (mini split) repair
We have sprung a leak somewhere in our mini-split system (two cassettes running off one heat pump). We are getting some astronomical quotes to find the leak, fix it and top-up the refrigerant. Does anyone recommend a firm to give us a more reasonable quote and do a decent job? Thanks for any ideas. Paul 10th & Constitution, NE
