My husband is a Sofer STaM and teaches Sofrut. One of his students is an 11 year old boy who has a desire to become a Sofer. His father has run out of funds for the lessons. He currently learns once a week. The goal is for him to learn the material in order to begin writing a Megillah by the time he reaches Bar Mitzvah age.?

Members from the Sovereignty Movement participated in
a tour?last?week where the practical meaning of the lack of Israeli sovereignty
in eastern Jerusalem was exposed, but they also heard about the plan that will
provide the appropriate Zionist and nationalist response – Greater Jerusalem.
The Sovereignty Movement continues with its series of field tours for
activists and supporters who want to learn about the complex reality resulting
from the lack of sovereignty and governance in Israel. Dozens participated in
the tour held by the movement in Jerusalem in its various neighborhoods, led by
Middle East expert Baruch Yedid, who exposed to them the painful and
little-known reality of the loss of control and sovereignty in the
neighborhoods of northern and eastern Jerusalem and the involvement of foreign,

The Sovereignty Movement views the series of tours for members and
supporters as the completion and continuation of the series of tours that the
movement has been holding for public opinion shapers and public figures, in
which participants are exposed to the practical consequences of the lack of
sovereignty and governance in large parts of the State of Israel.
The movement invites the public to participate in the tours that will be held in the coming weeks. The next tour is scheduled to be
in Lod, as an example of how Jews are coping with the challenges in mixed
cities, as well as strengthening the city’s residents.

Update - SOS situation for sick father and son

severe medical issues.
Many
of you may know about them. We have been trying to
help. The situation is now much worse and very sad. It has been
confirmed that the father has Cancer as well as other serious health
problems. He is in constant pain. He also just had oral surgery. He spends a lot of his time in Hadassah visiting and consulting with many doctors.
On top of all that, his son recently had surgery as well.The boy goes to a special school.
I have been trying with all my power to help, but it seems I have not done well and it breaks my heart.

The father worked for a company outside of Israel
that went bankrupt, owing him a very large amount of money, which put
him in serious debt. That was bad enough, but now he is horribly sick.
This
is a very sweet, nice man who always helps others, even now, and he now
desperately needs
help to pay rent, bills, and take care of his beautiful boy so he can
focus only on his health and his son's health. With everything else
going on with him, he arranges food packages for poor families every
Thursday for Shabbat. He is a wonderful person.
There are American and Israeli charities accepting donations online
for them. It is also possible to help through their local grocery store
or by bank transfer to friends helping the family. Please contact me
for details.
