Said Rabbi Bunam: "Purim is greater than Yom Kippur. On Yom Kippur we are ordered to starve our bodies, but on Purim, the Talmud (Megillah 7) enjoins us to imbibe more than usual, thereby starving our minds. The afflcition of the mind is greater than the afflicition of the body."
