the Hidden History of Israel¡¯s Freedom Fighters?
When it became clear that Britain had no intention of relinquishing its hold on Palestine, two small but determined underground groups - the Irgun and Lechi rose to the challenge and ultimately expelled the British.
These brave men and women faced death from all sides: the ruthless British
occupiers, hostile Arab forces, and, sadly, elements within the Jewish
establishment who opposed them.?
Their
courageous contributions have often been downplayed or erased from mainstream
history, but we will bring their stories to life with visits to two
powerful, little-known museums dedicated to their struggle.?
?Exploring
Modern Yaffo ¨C A City of Contrasts?
After an insightful morning, we'll enjoy a delicious group lunch at a
popular kosher vegetarian restaurant offering authentic hummus and falafel
in the heart of Yagfo¡¯s vibrant scene.?
?We will
then be hosted by the Garin Torani community of Yaffo, young Jewish pioneers
working to revitalize Jewish life in this complex, historic city. From the
rooftop of the Hesder Yeshiva, we¡¯ll take in a breathtaking panoramic view of
Yaffo, gaining insight into the evolving social and cultural landscape.?
?Yaffo was
once an Arab stronghold, even housing the Iraqi army in 1948 before it was
captured by the Irgun. After most of its Arab residents fled, Jewish refugees
expelled from Arab lands resettled here. Over time, however, the Jewish
population dwindled, and the remaining community faced growing Arab aggression.
With little government intervention, a new generation of young Jewish families
has stepped in to restore Jewish life.?
?We¡¯ll take
a guided bus tour of the neighborhood with a dedicated member of the Garin
Torani community, learning about the challenges, achievements, and vision for Yaffo¡¯s Jewish future.??

Ending by the Sea?
Before heading back, we¡¯ll have time to stroll along the beautiful Yafo
beachfront, taking in the sunset and reflecting on the day¡¯s journey.?
