Always Before Us
The Oheler Rabbi Said: "In the Shulchan Aruch (The Prepared Table), the author, Rabbi Joseph Caro begins with the words: 'Be strong as a lion to arise for the service of His Lord.' His co-auther, Rabbi Moshe Isserles begins his?sefer, The Mappah (The Tablecloth) with the words: 'Say to yourself: "I shall set the Lord always before me." Now as a rule, the Mappah comments upon and completes the Shulchan Aruch. This is the case in this instance also. Rabbi Isserles enjoins us that when we believe the Lord is always before us, we thereby gain strength to arise as a lion."
