The Attribute of Fear
The Koretzer commented upon the verse:? "And now, Israel, what does the Lord your God require of you, but to fear the Lord your God (Deuteronomy 10:12)... and to walk after Him" (Deuteronomy 13:5). "Concerning the latter verse, the Talmud says: 'How may one wlak after God? By imitation of His ways. He is merciful so you be merciful etc.. (Sotah 14a). But fear is not God's way, since there is no fear to Him. Therefore, the Lord reqeusts Israel: Although fear is not My way, nonetheless endow Me with this trait as well."
