God as a" Near Relation"
Said the Sachatzover Rabbi: "When a man is in dire need and has a rich relative, he usually receives aid a few times; after that, the relative is no longer ready to be of assistance. But if he has many relatives, he may obtain succor a long time. The Torah tells us (Deuteronomy 4:7): 'For what great nation is there, that has God so close towards them (in Hebrew - ?????? which?also means relatives), as the Lord our God is whensoever we call upon Him?' The Lord is not described as a near relation, but as near relations. and 'whensoever we call upon Him,' he treats us as a near relative, from whom we ask aid for the first time. "
