PSA: New Bus Routes At The Entrance to Jerusalem Due to Roadwork

Until recently Bar-Ilan Street had served as a main intercity bus route, however it has frequently been congested. Now, with the infrastructure upgrade works underway along the route, the traffic situation has deteriorated further and soon, due to works at Bar Ilan Intersection, still more traffic blockages are expected. For this reason, a public transport priority lane has been built along the Yirmiyahu- Shamgar- Shefa Hayim route, and once it is complete the bus lines will be diverted along it and to other alternative routes, where city buses pass nearby going to locations across the city.

The new plan has two main routes:
? The Fast Route: Yirmiyahu-Samgar-Shefa Hayim. Only lines which are directly and substantially related to the area will be diverted to this route - for example Bnei Brak and Ashdod.
? The Direct Route: from Har Hotsvim via Begin Road to the stops at the city exit, or directly from Har Hotsvim to the destination city.

You can see the exact routes on the flyer attached here. Or download the complete pamphlet here:?

The plan improves travel efficiency by using shortened routes, ensures bus schedule reliability and enables efficient service even during rush hour and at peak demand periods.?

now run on Fridays and Motsei Shabbat on the Beit Shemesh / Jerusalem routes. They are a fast route to and from Jerusalem, with fewer stops. These lines will add an extra 14 trips to the Friday schedule.?Lines 637, 638, 639, will operate in parallel with lines 617, 618, 619, on Fridays and Motsei Shabbat only. The buses will go via Givat Shaul and Lifta Jerusalem city entrance and continue to Har Chotzvim.

The scheduled times will change during the year based on Shabbat starting and ending times.
