Smuggling Chametz
Before Passover, the Berditschever summoned together the merchants and asked them whether much smuggling was being practiced. They replied that there was considerable. The Rabbi exclaimed: "O lord, behold what a good nation is Israel. The king has many officers, and they cannot halt smuggling. You have none, and yet You would find no? chametz smuggled into any Jewish home on Passover."
