The Diligent Balcksmith
The "Yud" related the following experience of his youth:
"Near my home was the shop of a blacksmith who was exceedingly diligent, working early and late.
'Should I not give as much time to my study of the Torah,' I told myself, 'as this workman gives to his material labors. If he is so diligent to provide his bodily needs, does it not behoove me to be at least as diligent in order to obtain spiritual treasures?"
