Double Reward
Said Rabbi Schmelke: "The Lord has pleasure in rewarding the godly man, and it is a good deed to give Him pleasure. Therefore, he who performs a good deed is doubly rewarded: once for the good deed, and secondly, for affording the Lord the pleasure of rewarding him for it. The same applies to the transgressor, since the Lord does not desire to punish."
