My husband was taking Sexenda and lost vision in both eyes, 7 months apart. We flew down to Baskin Palmer Institute in Miami and saw two ocular neurologists.? They both knew about the supposed connection between GLP. 1 and NAION. They both thought there is no true connection because there is not an increase in NAION worldwide yet there are so many people taking GLP’s. Just another prospective on the issue. ?
This (Ozempic), I am quite sure, is what caused my NAION in right eye. Took dosages up to 1 mg of Ozempic August ‘24-January ‘25. See online info about Massachusetts Eye and Ear (Harvard affiliated) discovery (which, they say, requires further study) that chances of obese and diabetic patients who take a GLP-1 medication (e.g. Ozempic, Weygovy) is 4-7x more likely than those taking other meds for these conditions. They found an “association,” by did not yet find a “causality.” I know this has been posted before, but we have many new people joining this group. ? Wow! I’ll have to take a look.?
