CanAm 2023 Workers

Paid Volunteer positions!? NAFA needs you at CanAm and it pays to help your organization.? There are several ways that you can help out.?

1. Line Judge or Table position

1 day – $100

2 days - $200, welcome bag, CanAm t-shirt

3 days - $330, welcome bag, CanAm t-shirt

?

The position can be filled by a club or an individual or team up with a friend and share the work, providing your own relief breaks.

?

2.? You can help out those dedicated line and table workers by giving them a break! - a 15 minute break in the morning, 30 minute lunch and 15 minute break in the afternoon.?

That’s 1 hour to relieve 1 position for the day.? The breaks don’t have to be at a specific time, they can be whenever it works with your race schedule.? Get a ticket for each race you work.? There will be draw for a $50 gift card each day.?

?

3.? Not able to commit to the above but find that during the day you have availability for 15 or 30 minutes?? We can absolutely use your help!? Go to the pit boss area to find out which position needs relief.? Get a ticket for each race you work.? There will be draw for a $50 gift card each day.?

?

Flyball participants know the game and are the perfect fit to step in to relieve a position.?

There is a line judge training video at the bottom of the NAFA home page.?

?

Please email flyballfanatic@... to sign up or ask questions.??

A few words from the designer:? My focus on creating this particular design was to honor the reason we all do flyball, the dog competitors! ?Each one is so unique and beautiful in their own way. I love watching flyball and seeing how each dog races over the jumps, to the box and back with their proudly gotten prize, the ball. Some dogs are playful while others are laser focused and everything in between. Thank you for choosing my design! ?I am truly honored.

?

Congratulations, Sherry!

?

Thank you to everyone that sent in design entries.

Update to NAFA Board of Directors Membership

The NAFA Board of Directors accepted Emma Mak's resignation on July 17th, 2023. Emma regretfully resigned just shy of serving 6 years as a BOD member, due to her son's recent health problems. The BOD and all of the flyball community wish the Mak family continued strength as they progress towards Hayden's recovery. Emma has made an enormous contribution to NAFA, as a board member and behind the scenes keeping the database and websites running. We send a heartfelt thank you to Emma for her tireless service to NAFA.

Per NAFA procedures, the Chairperson was called upon to submit a replacement candidate for approval by the Board of Directors. On July 27th, 2023, the Board of Directors voted unanimously to have the remainder of Emma's term filled by Paula Johnson. Paula is an active Region 2 competitor racing with Zoom. Paula already gives back to the NAFA flyball community as a Judge and currently volunteers on the Marketing and Communications Committees. Paula brings a wealth of experience in public relations that will serve NAFA well.

If you'd like to know more about Paula Johnson, you can check out this link to last year's BOD Candidate Chat?

Used Heat Trackers For Sale

NAFA is selling the 7 HeatTrackers that have been used at CanAm. The HeatTrackers have been in use for at least 10 years, and some of them not every year. Some have been refurbished.?

Each HeatTracker will come with the HeatTracker, a new remote, a stand, power cord and a travel case. Everything fits in the 1 case.

The light stand that is pictured is not the correct light stand. Here is the light stand and the actual link to it.

Cost: $300.00 USD

Where to Pick Up: CanAm 2023 Indianapolis, IN.
October 22, 2023

Last day to Register for Draw: April 15th, 2023

Can I have someone else pick up the HeatTracker if I will not be at CanAm? Yes

Can I get the HeatTracker shipped? NO.

How will the people chosen to buy the HeatTrackers be chosen?

1. Fill out Google Form:??

2. 7 Parties or less - They get to buy the number of HeatTrackers requested.

3. 8 or more parties interested - a random draw will take place and the 7 winners will be able to purchase a HeatTracker

Can I purchase more than 1 HeatTracker? Yes, however, the draw for the second HeatTracker will go after everyone gets a chance of at least one. So, if there are more than 6 parties that want one, then they will get a chance of getting 1 before you would get a 2nd one, similar to the way NAFA does a draw for limited tournaments.

If you have any more questions, please let Jonathan Bescher know at jjbescher@...
