?My logger won't run after the latest upgrade to 6.00.04. When I start it I get the window that asks me to register (I registered a long time ago but forgot to save my key).? I hit proceed and it starts to load. I get to the main window, then a few small windows flash, too fast to read, and the program closes. The only way I can get it to run is to repeat the system upgrade. The logger will run ONCE. After I end the logger, it won't run again.

Advanced Label Management in the N7XG logger

I had a need to print labels for my Direct contacts on the nets.
?
First I designed a label design in the Report Explorer, that will produce 8160 labels at 30 per sheet.? The page setup for this is .5" top and bottom margins and 0.19" for the left and right margin.? The Layout is 3 columns at 2.63" column width.? Column positions are .21, 3.25 and 5.9 for columns 1,2 and 3.? ?Column transversal is left to right with 0 Row Spacing.
?
Then I created my data by using the Contacts group, and used the fields Callsign, Date, Qsl Sent, Address and QSLinfo.
?
I then used the criteria of Qsl Sent = N and QSLinfo = Direct.? ?I sorted the output by Date.
?
This created the report that I wanted, all of my Direct contacts that I have not yet sent a QSL card to.? The label simply has Address and Callsign as the output.
?
The problem comes in when I have already used that sheet of labels to print a previous run of labels and lets say that the top 4 labels are used and gone from the sheet.? I want to start printing the needed address labels on position 5, counting from the top, moving left to right.? ?I solved this by entering a dummy contact into the log using my callsign, and I made sure to date it well before any other entry in the log.? I made sure that this dummy contact showed Not sent and Direct in the QSL data.? ?Then I cloned that dummy contact 3 times so that 4 identical contacts to my callsign are created, all not sent and Direct.
?
Since the output data is sorted by date, those dummy contacts print first, to the blank spots where there are no longer labels, and then in position 5, my first actual label is printed, continuing down the page until I have printed all the pending Direct/Not sent cards.? ?After the print job, all I have to do is hit update, and all those dummy contacts change to Sent and will not affect future printing.? (Be sure to print your QSL cards first!)? If I need to do another print job, I can edit however many of my dummy contacts I need for that run, or clone in some more.? ?Also remember that you can reverse top and bottom as you insert the label sheet into the printer, and start with no blank spots a second time for each sheet of labels.? ?Now I don't waste labels, and it is a lot of fun to make the program do this for me.
?
I hope this helps someone else!? I simply got tired of hand writing out 5-10 direct envelopes every time I managed my qsl cards and figured out a way to make it work using the computer instead.

Yes, everything was perfect until the upgrade.? Unlike you however,? my backup is still working perfectly. This is a major upgrade... I? expected a few issues.? Now that we have a good idea what they are,? it's time to call in Dean.? I will call him in the morning.

Hi Tim,
I am seeing the same issues that you are.? I am finding it difficult to check my log against what the logger is saying I need to work on the nets and I have noticed several cases where it says I dont need someone, when I actually do.? The most annoying thing however is that EVERYONE is labeled as DIRECT and this is what prints out on the cards instead of ccDX or cc40.? I am going into every contact that I know I have sent cards to via the buro, and editing in cc40 in the qsl data before I print the card.? ?I have also had to switch to FCC database lookups because the QRZ lookups dont work.??
?
Dean and I have talked and he wants to get on my PC to do some testing.? I have everything set up for him to do that, we simply need to work out the best time.
?
I am sure he will get everything worked out soon.??

I am having similar issues, since I upgraded, I noticed that CCL is not pulling information from the club profiles, or QRZ, every contact is shown as DIRECT, and stating that CCL is not pulling data from QRZ.
?
I did e-mail Dean, but I am sure this is just as busy a time for him as it is for everyone else.

6.00.01 error

 

Last night I logged into the 75m early net to find Linda, KO4SOW/p MO checked into the list.? I have never worked Linda on 75m, and I have not worked her after she moved to Missouri and became a /p MO,? yet she showed up as already worked (red) on the logger.? I worked her, and then confirmed that the new log entry did indeed say it was on the 75m Early net.

Every thing is stored under the logger folder.

How were these images created?

In your example below there are the folders that the report manager uses to store report formats.

How did you restore from your old computer?

Change the location (Config) setting in the backup to point to someplace other at the logger folder.

Thanks Gary,

I spoke with Dean this evening and he told me about that, I opted to have my backups saved on my NAS Server, now that I know what it was doing.
