Re: [3905chatgp] Re: [3905checkins] Announcing N7XG Logger version5.02.02 [2 Attachments]

Folks,

All the upgrade changes are:

main program executable
license.txt
updated rtm files (report templates)

The message received was a new check in this version to insure that when the logger was started it had write access to the logger folder. There was no intent to block anyone out. In the past I have discovered that with Windows 7 and later folder permissions get set and cause other problems as well.

If someone gets this error they should check the permissions on the logger folders and well as the subfolders.

Joe,
I had a similar problem when upgraded to 5.02.01, did run for a while before crashing though. I reloaded from "backup" (thought I was reloading the same version, not sure which file I opened to find it or what it was labeled) . It started and ran but I noticed it was version 5.01. Won't say I haven't had ANY trouble with 5.02.01, but upgrade to 5.02.02 was a snap. I guess I'm getting off topic, have you removed prior versions?? Not sure they "play well together". It seemed to help here. I thought upgrade would have done that, but don't think it did. (I'm running laptop, came with WIN7, upgraded to WIN 10.)

Still not able to run N7XG Logger, will not load after downloading and installing latest update.

Getting tired of this! Windows 10 with NO other programs, Loggers, etc. Don't even want to try it on my main windows 10 computer..

Suggestions?

I downloaded the new version and it worked flawlessly. No problems at all.

JUST A WORD OF WARNING

Well tried installing this Update on my back-up computer and now the N7XG logger will not even load up.
Note N7XG Logger goes to a error message, before even completing theN7XG Logger version 5.02.02 update, as we have done after installing all the updates in the past many years.
I believe this error is occurring due the change in the program. I.E."During logger startup the logger will attempt to write a file into the logger to determine if the files permissions are set correctly. If the user does not have write access then the logger will shutdown"

Anyone else having this problem or did I just get locked out of the N7XG program by a "Dean davis Fix"

Announcing version 5.02.02 of the N7XG Loggerh

Please see below for a complete list of changes.

The major changes to this release is support for SSL/TLS email. What this means is that if you are a Gmail user you can now send checkin lists to the reflector. If you are using Gmail please read their help pages on how to confifgure an email client.

Also in this release is the new Bakers Dozen Selector. Using this feature you will be able to analyze your log looking for multiple mobile/portable contacts, then select them and produce an award application.

Version 5.02.02 changes:

Corrected a minor issue when the contacts grid was double clicked and there were no records being displayed incorrectly opening the edit screen in new record mode.

Updated email to support SSL/TLS

Moved email settings to System Options screen (Email Options)

Added fields to the System options screen (QSL 2nd Request) for the headers, body, and signature fields.

Minor changes to the Email QSL Request screen to add a Subject line field.

In this version if the logger determines that the outgoing email settings are not set you will not be able to attempt to use the email functions (disabled)

During logger startup the logger will attempt to write a file into the logger to determine if the files permissions are set correctly. If the user does not have write access then the logger will shutdown
.
Redesigned the ADIF Export screen. Options are now selected from a dropdown list, better use of filters during export, and also added the ability to add /M or /P for mobile or portable stations.

Added new menu item under the Action menu to allow you to change several of the settings while monitoring a net.

Bakers Dozen award selector. This new feature will make it much easier to analyze your log, select and print out the Bakers Dozen Award.

New field in System Options - MyCallArea

Updating the current bureau managers in the System Options table - Currently KB8UEY and W2UJ

Update System Options table with correct Area Awards manager as it is defined in officers table.

Corrected the way the address field in the officers table was being stored.

Corrected an issue when a contact for PSK-31 was loaded it was not being correctly converted to PSK31 (ADIF convention)

Discontinued support of converting BMLLog files in the LogConvert utility
