WSJTX Integration

Unable to find an answer here, maybe someone can help me out.?
?
Trying to use N3FJP to control WSJTX.? I have my rig selected in ACLog, and WSJTX rig set to N3FJP.? Both programs are reading the band and frequency from the rig that way.
?
So far, so good.?
?
However,? the PTT options don't work....leaving it set on CAT doesn't work, neither do RTS or DTR.? I'm using USB so not surprising.? WSJTX pops up "Invalid PTT".?
?
Is VOX the only option here, or am I missing something?
?
Thanks!?

Do it the reverse.? Have WSJTX control the rig and pass the info to N3FJP

That works fine as long as you only use digital.? Not a good plan if you log lots of SSB and CW and only occasionally do digital.

I have it working with no rig in WSJT-X and my proper ICOM config in AC-Log.? But I don’t remember how.

Works well on SSB.? Turn on WSJT first. N3FJP then says it can not find the port. Just click ok, and you are on your way in digital.? If you do not start WSJT then the N#FJP finds the port and all is well'

I've been letting WSJT control the rig. Logging a contact is simple, it goes right to N3FJP.? No problems there.?
?
But I have been trying to set things up so that if I am NOT using WSJT, N3FJP rig control is fully functional without changing any settings, as per these instructions from N3FJP:
?
?
  • Alternatively, you can set AC Log to perform rig interface and set WSJT-X's rig selection to None.??Please note that if you go this route, it is best to set AC Log to return?Mode by Frequency?and enable?Return All Mapped Digital Modes.? Otherwise,? AC Log will display SSB for mode until you log a contact, but the mode will be saved as the proper digital mode either way.? AC Log will set most rigs to transmit as WSJT-X transmits, so WSJT remains fully functional with AC Log performing rig control.
The only difference from these instructions is that my WSJT has a "rig" selection labelled "N3FJP" and that is what I used.? When I set that up correctly, BOTH programs are reading the frequency, band and (for ACLog) mode data simultaneously.?
?
The issue is with PTT.? When I set it up this way, I get a message from WSJT that the PTT selection is invalid.? The integration FAQ says that "AC Log will set most rigs to transmit as WSJT-X transmits" and I am wondering how it does that and what PTT setting in WSJT will make that program happy.?

Turning on WSJT first if desired is the simplest way but I still want to get it working in the manner alluded to in the N3FJP FAQ. Because I like playing around. :)

My issue is that sometimes I go days without turning on WSJT-X, but I open AC-Log every morning.? And if at some point throughout the day something pops up on FT8, I do not want to just shut down AC-Log so I can start WSJT-X first, then AC-Log AGAIN.

The way I have it set up is working for me.? Once something is working, I’m inclined to not fix it more.

Hi Mike,

I have one of my three "rigs" set up as "none."?? Then I can just use Cntrl-X to turn off the ACLog <-> Computer I/O to allow WSJT-X to take rig control.? When done with FT8, I use Cntrl-X again to re-establish ACLog I/O control.
