Good morning

First time in a decade or so of using N3FJP software I ever ran into an issue.

Upgrading from Call Log 7.07 to 7.08 on a Windows 11 Home machine.

I keep getting this error code.? ? Never say this before, and multiple retries has not resolved it.

Thoughts?

On the computer you are trying to upgrade, are you logged in as a regular user, or an administrator ?

You might try right clicking the file you downloaded and "Run as an Administrator" ??
It could be a permission issue.

Good morming

After the upgrade inside 7.07 failed, I went to the download ink in the FAQ section and downloaded there.

Clicked on then file in the down load folder and it opened N3FJP and began the process and stopped with this error.

Then I went back to the download folder and clicked run as administrator, I got the same error message.

At this point it does not really matter, as the main computer with the log was upgraded some time ago without issue.

Thanks for the idea though., Never had an issue and I think this one started with 7.05 or 7.06. This machine only gets used when combining log files from club outings into 1 file.

Back again

did a restart.

Opened Call Log. Allowed the update to run.? Stopped on same error message.

Went to download folder, clicked run as admin.? Began install, stopped on error message.? Clicked Skip file. Installation appeared to proceed normally.

Call Log opened.

Was still 7.07.

Like I said, not a big deal, just curious it does not behave here like it has on the other.? HP vs Lenovo should not matter.? Its all windows 11/.

Do a reboot again. This time don't start ACLog, go directly to your download folder and run the upgrade file from there. (Using "run as administrator" if necessary)?

Do you get the same results? ??

I just notice you are using Avast AVG

This is a probable cause of the issue. try temporarily disabling Avast and see if the results are better.

I have seed other threads abaut Avast-Free not allowing other software to properly upgrade.

1. It does not matter if i run from downloads folder as admin, i get the same error.

2. I updated from call log on another windows 11 home machine to 7.08 using the call log updater and it works fine.

Both had AVG running.

I have no clue what it is and not really care. Until Scott built in the updater, i let it go years between updates.

Just find it odd.?

Hi Frank,

Thanks for your e-mail.? I'm sorry that you are still having trouble.? I understand installation worked normally on another PC, but I agree with Kevin that this must be a security settings problem.? Something, either your security software or the folder settings applied in your OS are not allowing the installer to do its job.? Giving the installer the proper permissions will remedy that.
