Bob,

I just want to thank you for your post. I came across it as I was looking for a way to accomplish a similar goal. My primary computer for radio use is a Raspberry Pi running Linux. I run WSJT-X, fldigi, and others on that Pi but I have a Windows PC for running AC Log. Those programs talk fine to AC Log over the network and that meets most of my needs. My problem is when not using one of those, I have no connection between the radio and the Windows PC. I can move the USB cable from the Pi to the Windows PC but it's a hassle to do that back and forth all the time. With what you outlined, I was able to run Hamlib's network server (rigctld) on the Pi to talk to the radio, use rigctlcom as a client on the Windows PC, and the virtual com ports (com0com) to connect that to AC Log. Everything works great!

Thanks again and 73,
