¿ªÔÆÌåÓýI would venture that Scott Davis will have the best answer for this. My opinion is that it should have an instance of N3FJP running on the computer and that should contact the server. Mainly because you run into the issue of both the Mac and another computer trying to update the server share at the same time. Also by having the Mac run an instance of N3FJP on it, you gain the benefit of it alerting if you¡¯re running on the same band/mode as another station and the ability to send messages between stations. ? That being said, having WSJT-X contact the server directly does work. I have had a setup for a short time where I was running Build-A-Pi (or Ham-Pi) on a Raspberry Pi and having it log to my main desktop¡¯s copy of AC Log. But that was the only device that was logging to the desktop, so I didn¡¯t run into any potential issues. ? Have a great day. ? ? I'm revamping our "IT Infrastructure" for Field Day next year and have a question regarding the sending from WSJT-X directly to N3FJP.? Is it ok for the digital station to send directly to an instance of N3FJP running on the file server in a networked environment or should it sent to a dedicated logging PC assigned to that station?? I ask because our main digital op uses a Mac and next year we'd like him to be able to log directly to the shared database. |
