Re: Incorrect time stamp on FD Netowork 1.7

Hi Mike,

Thanks for the report.? Keep in mind that the time of the contact is based on the clock of the PC that entered the record.? If one of the PC's did not have the clock properly set then the contacts from that PC will not have a valid time.? If there weren't too many then it is quite possible that the operator corrected the time problem.

The time written to the ASCII Log file is the same data that is recorded in your log.? You can click List All to view and edit your complete log.? Odds are that any date problems will be at the bottom of the log since it is sorted on date.

You only have to submit the dupe and summary files for your Field Day submittal, so odds are everything is fine.? I do plan to add a feature for next year to allow the clocks of all the PC's on the network to be synchronized.

Thanks for your kind words on the software.? I really appreciate it.

We used Field Day Network 1.7 for the first time at out FD outing.?
The program was running on a Dell laptop with XP Pro.? All stations
connected fine and the program was GREAT!? But after the contest I
ran the ASCIILOG.TXT and noticed the time stamp was all messed up!?
The time on the computer was correct, the UTC offset was correct,
but the first time stamp was "1980/01/04? 06:48:52" which was really
2003/06/28? 18:02:12.
Then later down the log these two entries were one after the other;

1980/01/04? 19:51:01?
2003/06/28? 18:18:29

Then from that point on it kept (I am assuming) correct time.? I
never turned the laptop off or rebooted it for the duration of the
contest.? I did NOT run the program from a DOS prompt or command
screen, but installed and ran it straight from the menu in XP Pro.

Has anyone else seen this or have an idea?
Thanks
