Amateur Contact Log 3.3 Now Available & 3 Other Tidbits!

Hi All,
?
?
Amateur Contact Log 3.3 is Now Available!
?
I received notification this week from Fred at QRZ that they are changing the XML callbook lookup URL again, so I have updated AC Log accordingly.? I've also?set up the code to make the URL user modifiable,?so it will be easier?to keep up with any future changes.
?
If you use QRZ's online lookup, it is important that you upgrade now as Fred will be discontinuing the old link soon.? This is the only change to AC Log, so if you are not using QRZ's on line subscription service, staying with AC Log 3.2 is fine.
?
As always, upgrades are free to registered users.? Please download the latest from .? Be sure to let?AC Log?install in its own, default directory.? Never install over top an existing program!

November Sweepstakes is Only a Few Weeks Away!
?
We are still getting e-mail daily from folks just discovering Ontario has been divided into new sections, so I'm sure there are many folks who haven't yet received that word.? My software is ready to go with the new sections and you will definitely need to upgrade prior to the contest, because the old versions won't log the new sections.? My fear is?I'm going to be flooded with e-mail?the day?the contest starts, saying "Help, I can't log the new sections!".? As long as you have downloaded the latest for Sweepstakes, ARRL 160 and Field Day, you will be fine.

Quick Update on the C#.NET Rewrite Progress.
?
For those of you who have been following along, you know that I am in the process of rewriting all my software in C#.NET, upgrading from VB6.? Microsoft has discontinued support for the VB6 development environment and there is no guarantee that?programs written in VB6 will run on future operating systems (I do understand they are running fine on Windows 8).
?
While I have a long way yet to go, I've been at it for about six months now and it is going well.? I am currently building a template that will be used as a foundation for all the software.? Once the template is complete, I will then start writing the individual programs.? I have already completed CW sending (via the PC), Telnet, country lookup, ADIF Import / Export, network display, rig interface and network functions (multiple clients connecting to a common database, adding, updating and deleting records, etc.).
?
There is no way to predict how long it is going to take.? Some days I make good progress.? Others it literally takes all day to get one line of code working the way I need it to.? When I started, my goal had been to complete the template by next summer (phase 1) and then roll out the approximately?50 programs at what may be an optimistic pace of a program a week after that (phase 2).? I'm?fairly sure?that I will beat the time planned for phase 1 of the rewrite project.? We will see how phase 2 goes after that.

Please join us at the Water Cooler Frequency on 21.446!
?
I mentioned this concept last announcement, there has been good interest and we have settled on 21.446, which is working well!?
?
You know the moment when you've been at work on a project for hours and you just have to get up for a minute, grab a drink at the water cooler and clear your head by enjoying a quick chat with a coworker? I love working from home, but I sure miss that office diversion. It turns out others do too, so we are randomly meeting at the metaphorical water cooler on 21.446 daily for brief chats about sports, the weather and anything ham related. We'd love to chat with you there too! For more information, please visit:

And in response to the often asked question for which Kimberly and I are very grateful...
?
"I know your upgrades are free, but I also realize how much time and effort coding these enhancements and new programs take and that your pricing policy doesn't fully reflect that. Can I send you something to show my appreciation for your continued efforts?"
?
